Content Policy & Joke Standards

Every joke on this site is reviewed by a human before it is published. Here is exactly what that means — and how to tell us when we get it wrong.

Our clean-joke promise

Jokes here are written and reviewed for children ages 4-12. A joke only appears on the site, in random results, and in printable packs after it passes this review. Automated checks help us spot duplicates and data problems, but they never replace human review.

What we do not allow

A joke is rejected or removed if it contains any of the following:

  • Sexual or suggestive content of any kind
  • Slurs, hate speech, or jokes targeting protected groups
  • Violence, gore, or self-harm
  • Drugs, alcohol, or smoking
  • Jokes that humiliate personal or protected traits (appearance, disability, family, culture, religion)
  • Bullying, name-calling, or mean-spirited put-downs
  • Dangerous imitation (anything a child might copy to get hurt)
  • Frightening content that is likely to scare young children
  • Bathroom or body humor that crosses age-appropriate boundaries

Age and readability standards

  • Every joke carries a reviewed age range inside ages 4-12.
  • Wordplay must be explainable to a child at the low end of that range.
  • Classroom suitability matters: a teacher should be able to read any joke aloud without surprises.
  • Duplicate jokes are merged into one canonical page so counts and links stay honest.

Report a joke

Spotted a joke that should not be here? Parents and teachers can report it from any joke page using the “Report this joke” link. Every report is read by a person. While a reported joke is under review it can be withdrawn from pages, the sitemap, random results, and print packs in one step.

Please include the joke page address and one of these reasons:

  • Inappropriate for kidsBreaks one of the rules above
  • Too scary or upsettingLikely to frighten a young child
  • Mean or bullyingPunches down at a person or group
  • Confusing or brokenThe setup or answer does not make sense
  • DuplicateThe same joke appears more than once
